I enjoy interacting with people who ask me about the art especially now that I am enjoying working in the ENCAUSTIC medium.Being able to respond to their questions and curiosities is what interests me especially when most people have never hear of Encaustic works before.

Encaustic is an ancient painting medium which predates oil painting, so is over 2000 years old.
Used by both the Greeks and Egyptians originally as a sealant in ship building and then more decoratively in the
portraiture on sarcophagi . With that in mind Encaustic works have an endless versatility.

A well known USA artist – Jasper Jones who used this medium is his quoted as saying:
‘Its simple, you take something and then you do something to it. Then you do something else to it then something else. Keep this up and pretty soon you have got something’
Well put as Encaustic is many layers of Wax & Resin with coloured pigments that are heated up to apply to a surface until I do get something!!!

In my April Newsletter I will be releasing my latest works, join me to view more about it.
